Jon says... Well Priced
The Charles Shaw killer. This stuff was made to one up 2-Buck-Chuck and it’s legit. Smooth and solid, it has a strong vanilla backbone provided by heavy oaking. The oak is what sets it apart from the Charles Shaw cabernet and that’s about it. So, while Charles Shaw is good with food, this bottle is better alone or for hanging out and having a glass with friends.
Ted says... Well Priced
A bit of peppery and fruity aromas set this wine up for a bigger opener than closer. It finishes quick and light. It’s a lighter bodied cabernet that has some structure and oakiness, but the finish isn’t nearly as nice as the start to this wine—or should I say lackthereof. But for $5, who’s really looking? This wine is an easy drinker and would go well with some lighter-spiced steaks or probably better, chicken.
