Photos of bottles

Maybe this is a “wine” topic but my question is how to take good photos of wine bottles (if there is a way). I find that for my journaling I like to have photos, but they are often pretty crummy. Any tips on how to make them really good?

Hey Greg, what I’ve found works best:

  • Have the bottle preferably full of wine — while it’s probably most fun to actually drink the wine, bottles that are full of wine tend to take better pictures
  • Setup good backlighting — the best pictures of wine labels for me turn out when I have good lighting behind the bottle and a bit above it
  • Turn off your flash :)
  • Put your camera in Macro mode (the little flower) and zoom in real close

So far those are the best tricks I’ve uncovered :)
