I was reading Wine Spectator the other day and stumbled upon a little article about this wonderful new product: Fusebox.
Fusebox is a wine experiment you can perform in your own home. When you buy the package they send 6 bottles of “blending” wine (Cabernet Sauvignon (2 bottles) , Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc) and some other components to carry out the experiment. Following the instructions, it will show you how to blend the different types of wines to create better tasting wines. Perhaps this Cabernet Sauvignon on its own tastes too tannic, but blend in the right amount of Merlot and the finish may be amazing! Or maybe not :)
Overall, I think this is a wonderful idea. As Jon and I always say, the best way to learn wine is to drink wine, and this instruction set & wine blending lessons is a perfect way to better understand (and taste!) the wine making process.
