Drinking Red Wine Will Extend Your Lifespan, Prevent Cancer, and Make You Thin

If you aren’t drinking red wine right now, stop reading and fill up a glass. Take a sip. Congratulations!! Recent studies show that if you drink red wine you will live longer, be healthier and look thinner.

Drinking Wine is Good for You Wow. This 20-year study, performed by Dr. Leonard Guarente of M.I.T., and recently confirmed by Dr. Richard Weindruch of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, shows that Resveratrol, a chemical compound in red wine, peanuts and green tea, can do so pretty fantastic stuff for humans.

Sure… this isn’t the first study to find fantastic health benefits in wine. And I am sure that next week, I will read an article about the grievous dangers of alcohol abuse. This has been an ongoing debate for decades. I’m no scientist, but I see it this way: French people eat lots of butter and drink red wine. They are thin and healthy. People from Wisconsin eat lots of butter and drink beer. They are not. These scientists might be on to something.

But before you fill up a glass, make sure that it’s red wine. Resveratrol comes from the skins of grapes, so you will find it in higher concentrations in red wine which is fermented with the skins.

Eat, drink and be merry (and thin and healthy and old). Your welcome.

Hello

I’m Jonathan Harriman, co-founder of 2 Guys Uncorked. Seven months ago, Ted and I were brainstorming. We wanted to help our friends and family find great wines, but everyone was spread out across the nation. So we found the common link: Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. There is a TJ’s or WFs in every major metropolitan area in the US. Even better, their wine selections are pretty consistent between locations. 2 Guys Uncorked was born!

Hello world!

Hey everyone! So I’m Ted, co-founder of 2 Guys Uncorked. I started working on this wine concept with Jon about 7 months ago—we both were drinking lots of wine and sharing reviews. We soon realized that other people were interested in our reviews, because we were telling it straight. Our reviews weren’t biased nor full of large, esoteric words and we gave the most important advice: either buy this wine or don’t. Simple as that.

2 Guys Uncorked launches!

Family & Friends,

2 Guys Uncorked has launched! After seven months (since June ’07) of hard work and wine drinking, Ted and Jon have unleashed their idea onto the world.

2 Guys Uncorked is an innovative, easy to use website dedicated to reviewing wines that can be found at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods (and generally, most any other well stocked wine store). We make it easy to figure out what wines to buy each week depending on where you’ll be drinking them.

  • Currently we have more than 30 reviews of wines from around the world
  • Each wine we review can be found nationwide at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, or any other well stocked wine store
  • Every review is quick, fun, and easy to understand, incorporating both of our thoughts
  • We take price into account when rating each wine, giving an overall rating anywhere from a best buy to a don’t buy
  • Every week we post new reviews of wines, along with our best buys and don’t buys for the week

To keep updated with all the new reviews and each weeks featured wines, please add your email to subscribe to updates (upper right, don’t worry we hate spam too) or add the feed to your favorite RSS reader.

If you want to add comments to our reviews or participate in the forums, please create an account and join in on the fun!

And do stay tuned, we have tons of new features coming soon (like iPhone support, shh!).
